How to Warranty - we want to do right by you!

We sell quality gear. If an item requires warranty service, please bring it back. It’s way easier if you have a receipt, in fact some manufacturers won’t warranty items without a receipt… so please hang on to yours! 

We of course can’t guarantee against accidental damage (like shoes too close to the fire or a jacket hooked on barbed wire), normal wear-and-tear, or excessive use. We know that the mountains are tough on stuff and if you and the mountains have literally just worn something out we’ll see if we can help you get it fixed for a reasonable fee. 

If your item is covered by warranty, we will offer repairs, replacement or a Gift Card. Certain items are warrantied by the manufacturer and we are happy to facilitate this coverage. Unfortunately some companies require the consumer to deal with them directly on warranty issues. These include hockey sticks, softball bats, Garmin, Leatherman, Timex, GPS items, Darn Tough socks and others. As a note, if the warranty item is to be replaced but it is not in stock we will give you a gift card for the value of the item.

Didn’t get the right thing? Of course you can return or exchange it! You can return unused, unopened, clean items with their original labels and tags- in other words, items in perfect condition- within 30 days of purchase. If you don’t have the receipt, we won’t be able to give you a refund, we’ll give you a gift card instead. If the item has been on sale at any time we will give you a gift card for the sale price.  

Can I return anything?

Almost. For safety and hygiene reasons the following items cannot be returned or exchanged: swimsuits, underwear and bras (base layers like long johns are not underwear), bear safety items, fuel, all climbing gear, helmets, GPS and other locator products, all food items, sunscreen & lip balm, all fluids, waxes, Bear spray, and any shipping charges.

How to return items

You can drop by the store or you can send items by mail. Our mailing address  (also our store address) is WARRANTIES & RETURNS, Coast Mountain Sports, 309 Main St, Whitehorse, YT, Y1A 2B3. Be sure to include your name, address and phone number so that we can contact you. 

Warranty items: These must be cleaned. For health and safety we will not be able to process dirty items.  

Returned items: If the item didn’t fit or didn’t work, we will process your refund when we get the item back in its original condition. If you have a receipt, we will refund your form of payment. If you don’t have a receipt, we will give you a gift card. You'll need to pay for return shipping and these shipping charges are non refundable.

Exchange: You can of course drop by our store to exchange an item. If you are exchanging on line, please buy the item you wanted and send back the other one (in perfect condition of course) for a refund. Just follow the procedure for returning items. As soon as we get the item back, we’ll refund your form of payment. Be sure you communicate with so that we know why we are receiving items and be sure to include your info!
